29 cm x 20 . 5 cm. Much larger than the usual size of press photograph. Near fine and glossy with slight corner creases. Back has raised typed label and various newspaper and agency stamps showing contemporary newspaper use. This exact photograph circulated amongst the newspapers of South Africa for its inclusion in daily newspapers. In the days before digital technology, newspapers needed a high quality real photograph for the reproductions in newspapers, and these have become very collectible. Churchill died less than 2 years after this photograph was taken. He was 89 at the time when the photograph was taken!
